Hey hi
can you Explain me the difference between these
YamaLube 20w40 (mineral) or Rs. 415 for YamaLube 15w50 (semi synth)
Do they differ according to using conditions or else something?
Please mention the difference
@Rishi
Well I am not a chemical engineer so I am sorry that I wont be able to explain in details but I can share the information which I learnt while biking only..
Mineral Oil (YamaLube 20w40)
As it sounds, its mainly made from natural petroleum byproducts. Compare to semi synthtic oil, this oil will heat up quickly to its operational temperateness thus for shorter ride it will produce good mileage and economical riding..
However in longer rides like non stop 100kms or more, this oil will quickly lose its operational capabilities and you will feel engine vibration and harshness. Mineral oils will last lot less compare to synthetic oils and if using it for R15, one should be changing it at around 1000kms/1500kms mark..
Semi-Synthetic YamaLube 15w50
This oil has synthetic materials and compare to mineral yamalube this one is much more suited for longer runs and performance riding needs. This oil may take a little while (5 to 10 kms of riding) to warm up but in longer runs, this oil will perform better and retains its operational capabilities when riding 100kms or more non stop.
Compare to mineral, this oil will last at-least double as you may continue to use it for 2000 to 2500kms..
