It’s now official. After months of anticipation and spy picture trolling, Bajaj finally launched the Pulsar 200 SS in India. Bajaj has decided to change the name, as the new bike is now called Pulsar RS 200 (Racer Sports). Let’s take a very quick look a comparison between Yamaha YZF-R15 v2, Honda CBR 150R, KTM RC 200 and this new launch, the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.
Although, initially it was speculated that the price of this pulsar will be at par with Yamaha R15 but it seems it would be little pricier than that, taking close to Honda CBR 150R range.
As you may see, on paper the bike is really powerful and will blow away the likes of R15 and CBR 150R. Infact you get ABS, that too at all most Rs. 30,000 cheaper than KTM RC 200, which comes without ABS.
Expected on road price for RS 200 is Rs. 1.38 L for the non ABS and Rs. 1.52 L for the ABS version. Compared to 200 NS, there is a power bump of 1 ps, but comes with same gear ratio as 200 NS. However Bajaj claims the top speed to be over 141 kmph for this bike. Bajaj has also opted to go for Fuel Injection and unlike P220 DTS-Fi developed in house, this is from BOSCH hence one can expect a trouble free operation.
