Hyosung showcased single cylinder version of their 250cc line up, the GD250R and GD250N in last auto expo (2014). Internationally the bikes have started their production back in December 2014. To rival KTM single cylinder cost effective offerings, Hyosung is eyeing to launch both these vehicles here in India also.
This year, in March and April, Hyosung imported (as CKD) three units of GD250R from their South Korean base for Indian testing and Homologation. Import data shows the declared value to be Rs. 2.30L per bike but it is expected to get some localization and actual price at launch, which is expected to be by this year Diwali (Festive season), is speculated to match RC200 (Rs. 1.80 L).
Further on, the spy shots are now getting leaked for the first time showing the GD250R is on road testing in India.
The Hyosung GD 250 R is powered by a single cylinder, 4 valve, 250cc liquid cooled engine producing around 28 bhp @ 8500 RPM along with a 6 speed gear box. Apart from the powerful engine, the motorcycle comes with a sporty design and promises comfortable riding ergonomics.
